It has never been easier to learn languages—or at least, that’s what we’re told all the time. And in a way, it’s true: thanks to the internet, we have access to content from all around the world. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean the process is easier. In fact, it can sometimes have the opposite effect. Faced with an overwhelming amount of information, we often become more passive. With TikTok and social media in general, we fall into a dynamic that encourages quick consumption rather than deep learning.
